Gujrati Thali

Masala Dosha

A traditional southern Indian dish known as masala dosa is popular throughout the country, made from a batter of soaked rice and lentils that is baked into a thin pancake and usually stuffed with potatoes, onions, and mustard seeds.

Medu-Vada

This gives some credibility to the argument that Medu Vada must have originated in Karnataka. This disc shaped snack has become one of the most popular breakfast choices and is typically paired with Coconut chutney and Sambar.

Idly

Idli is a traditional, savory Indian cake that is a popular breakfast item in numerous South Indian households, although it can be found throughout the country. It is made with a batter consisting of fermented lentils and rice, which is then steamed.

Appam

Appam is a popular Indian bowl-shaped pancake made from a batter of rice flour and coconut milk. Typically consumed for breakfast or dinner, appam is most popular in Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka, and Kerala, where it is culturally linked to the Syrian Christians called the Nasranis, who bake appam on a stone.

Puttu

Puttu is another delicacy of Kerala that is served with Kadala curry (black peas/ kaala chana curry). Puttu is steamed rice filled in metal cylinders to give it a shape. The dish is topped with grated coconut and is served with ripe bananas on the side.

Coconut Rice

Indian style coconut rice is a simple and flavorful recipe. Grated coconut seasoned with spices and mixed with the white rice. Coconut rice is a traditional South Indian dish. From kids to everyone loves coconut rice.

Aalu Paratha

There are many different kinds of roti in Punjabi. Among them, the parantha (or paratha) is the most famous. Paranthas are rich in taste and also a staple food in Punjab.

Chole Bhature

Talk about Punjabi food and the popular chole bhature can never be given a skip. The dish has become one of the favourites with people across the country and is also one of the must try Indian delicacies.

Sarso-Saag

A popular vegetarian dish of Punjab is Sarson ka saag. It is usually eaten with Makki ki roti. The combination of Sarson ka saag and Makki ki roti is delicious. People, whether living in a village or city, always say yes to this combination.

Punjabi Kadhi

A delicious creamy gravy with soft fried pakodis dipped in it, makes for an amazing Punjabi kadhi. It is made from gram flour, spices and chillies that makes for a popular lunch dish in an Indian household. Usually served with rice, it is topped with laal-mirch ka tadka.

Gujarti Special:

Dhokla

Arguably the most recognizable Gujarati food, Dhokla is one of the most frequently consumed Gujarati dishes in the world. Be it early morning, late afternoon, or evening- it’s always the right time for Gujarati cuisine lovers to eat Dhokla.

Dabeli

Originated in the Kutch region of Gujarat, Dabeli or Kutchi Dabeli is a popular Gujarati cuisine snack food that is slightly similar to Bombay Vada Pav in terms of texture and composition.

Gathiya

Since Gujarati dishes are incomplete without a few sweeteners, the alternative version of this snack is called Mitha Gathiya. This dish is often consumed by people while having tea in the morning, or in the evening.

Fafda-Jalebi

Gujarati cuisine is filled with a variety of snacks and quick edible items. Fafda Jalebi is the tried and tested, and sweet and salty Gujarati food that is available at every street corner in Gujarat.

Thepla

A very commonly consumed Gujarati food, Thepla is a flatbread prepared in multiple variations like with fenugreek leaves, wheat flour, or cumin seeds. Theplas are a popular portable dish that can be consumed hot or cold while traveling.

Undhiyu

Gujarati dishes originating from Surat have a unique flavor, preparation, and taste to it. Undhiyu is mix vegetable dish that is cooked upside down underground in clay pots.

Marathi Special:

Batata-Vada

This goes out to all the potato lovers. Batata translates into potato in English. Mashed masaledar potatoes coated in a thick besan (chickpea flour) batter and deep fried till golden.

Puran Poli

This famous sweet is traditionally prepared during the festivities and holidays. This sweet happens to an important part of the Maharashtrian cuisine, without which every festival would seem incomplete.

Bharleli Vangdi

This is a dish which is made with Brinjals. The Brinjals are hollowed out and stuffed with grated Coconut and authentic Marathi Spices. The Brinjals are then cooked on a flame. If you want a taste of true Marathi cuisine, then this is a must try.

Zunka Bhakar

Zunka Bhakri is traditionally made with chickpeas or besan paste which is further cooked with onions, curry leaves, ginger-garlic paste, cumin and mustard seeds. Rich and aromatic, best served with bajra or jowar rotis.

Bhakarvadi

This snack is famous for having a huge fan following. The dish uses flavours which impart sweetness and tanginess to the snack. The dual flavours are probably the reason why people love it so much.

Kotmir-Vadi

If you are looking for the best of Maharashtrian snacks, then you will be surprised to see the huge list. This is another popular snack, where Coriander Leaves are used. The dish is extremely delicious and easy to make.

Inidan Sweets

Barfi

Originally from the northern part of India, barfi is a sweet confection made from sugar added to sweetened condensed milk and then boiled down to a solid. Without added colour or flavourings, the sweet dessert resembles packed snow.

Ghevar

For me, it is the king of all Indian sweets. It is a Rajasthani sweet traditionally associated with the Teej festival. It is available only during the rainy season for a month or two and then we have to wait for another year to enjoy this sweet treat.

Gulab Jamun

Gulab Jamun is a very popular, soft and melt in mouth milk based Indian sweet recipe that consists of deep fried dumplings that are prepared using khoya or milk powder and soaked in saffron or rose cardamom flavored sugar syrup.

Moti-Chur Laddu

Motichur laddu are soft, delish melt in the mouth ladoo made mainly with gram flour, sugar, and spices. The gram flour batter is fried to make tiny balls or boondi and mixed with sugar syrup, nuts or seeds and later shaped to neat round balls.

Rasgulla

Rasgulla or 'Rassogulla' is a sweet, which tempts people of all ages.It brings out a smile on every soul. Rasgula is a small spongy ball of happiness. No one can resist the rasgullas.

Shrikhand

Shrikhand can be easily defined as the combination of sweet yogurt dessert which is flavored with powdered cardamom and Kesar or saffron. This dish is a Superhit among dessert lovers and is made in huge amounts during special occasions such as weddings and especially the festival of Dussehra.

Jalebi

Crisp, orange and coiled, jalebiand its unique shape has mesmerised us all at some point in life. Several poets and writers have used jalebi for a variety of their poetic references and metaphors. Not many sweetmeats around the world have had a fortune of being such a phenomenon.

Soan Papdi

Thanks to India’s diversity, we have so many varieties of sweets that I can write an opinion about each one of them. But for this one, I am going to limit myself to the most hated one — Soan Papdi.

Khaaja

Khaja is very rich item in terms of food in Bihar Khaja is a word that every Bihari will relate to and people here has a special connection towards the food item. The people of Odisha aswell enjoys the sweetness of Khaja.
